Little Pressmore Farm is, through all levels of
management, committed to ensure, so far as is reasonably
practicable, that:
- All horses are safeguarded in respect to
their health and safety and welfare whilst
in our care.
- All horses are treated with respect and compassion.
- No work is carried out by the company or its
contractors that is liable to expose horses to
hazards to health and welfare, unless suitable
and sufficient assessments of the risk are made
and necessary measures to prevent or control
the risk have been introduced. This includes
fertilisation and weed control of fields.
The Company has ultimate responsibility for the
implementation of this policy and will ensure that
the requirements of all health and safety and animal
welfare legislation are established.
The Company's objectives are:
- To provide an enriched environment where all
horses in our care receive the highest and most
appropriate level of care
- To ensure that all facilities such as the arena,
round ring, stables, fencing and horse walker
are maintained in a well maintained condition
to ensure the safety and comfort of the horse.
- To ensure the health and welfare of the horse
is maintained whilst in our care by implementing
our pasture management, parasite and vaccination
protocols.
The success of this policy is largely dependent
upon the total co-operation of every person who
works, keeps their horse with us or visits the
premises.
It is requested that all clients alert Little
Pressmore Farm management to any potential hazards
to their horse's or to any other horses health,
safety and welfare.
This policy will be monitored to ensure it is
effective and will be regularly reviewed and revised
as necessary.
